I went and did it! I got tattoooeeddded!
For a while I've been wanting to add something to my pre-existing tattoo, my lovely embracing couple... I specially wanted to add color in some way, to make it special. It was kind of bland and lonely. I toyed with the idea of wings, petals, maybe even just splashes of color. Then I remembered Gustav Kimt, one of my favorite artists. I went through a bunch of his paintings and came across one that contained a fantastic tree:
After a few sketches I had this:
All that's left is to dive right in! Here, have a looksy:
Phase One: Stencil
Phase Two: Pretend it doesn't hurt
Phase Three: My new buddy Mike!
I'm not posting a close up picture because it still needs to heal and also maybe retouched because it was a difficult one, and the ink was the same color as the stencil, making it even harder. I will post it when it's fully done :)
I am very happy even as I am shocked that it's so big (I don't know why, I'm the one that drew it and sized it). Some day soon I'll rework the older tattoo, add some color too, make it more vibrant.... But that'll have to be when I wont remember the pain anymore... It wasn't SOOO bad, but it took a really long time (about 3 1/2 hrs.) and towards the end it got worse. I was exhausted! Still am...
ohmagah..
